JLARF MULTIMEDIA

At JLARF, we believe that scholarly work is more than just the words on a page, it is the voice, experience, and passion of the scholar behind it. JLARF Multimedia is our initiative to extend authorship beyond traditional publications, giving scholars a platform to present and discuss their work in their own voice and image, through audio and video clips.

Scholars who have published with JLARF—whether an article, book review, chapter review, classroom experience, or any other submission type—can create multimedia content to expand upon their work. They can record video discussions, podcast-style reflections, or behind-the-scenes insights that highlight the journey behind their research. However, JLARF Multimedia is also a publishing space in its own right. Scholars don’t need to reference prior work—they can submit videos or audio presentations as standalone contributions, allowing them to present research, reviews, or classroom experiences in a format that best captures their insights. Since JLARF is an open-access journal, these multimedia pieces will be freely accessible, either embedded alongside the referenced work or showcased on the scholar’s personal profile within JLARF.

This initiative aligns with one of JLARF’s core missions: to increase author visibility and expression. We want to give a face to the names, a voice to the words, and a personality to the research. While academic writing often adheres to rigid structures, JLARF Multimedia allows scholars to step beyond the constraints of text, sharing their reasoning, challenges, and inspirations in a more flexible and engaging format.

In addition to providing a space for multimedia content, JLARF Tech Advisory Team offers professional support for those who want to create high-quality video or audio presentations. We assist with recording setup, video editing, audio mastering, and digital branding, ensuring that scholars can confidently share their insights without technical limitations.

JLARF Multimedia is not just about expanding on scholar’s research—it is about bringing scholars into the spotlight, allowing them to communicate with their audience on a more candid, personal manner.
